  • INSPIRATION FOR SERIES

This series of digital drawings were done while resting in my bed and
trying to discipline my body to stay THERE.  For two years there were
countless times I was waiting on test results while SSM Shawnee/OKC
doctors studied my health.  In the meantime I discovered a good deal
about drawing apps and I started using my ipad for more than just
    texting on a bigger screen.

While waiting I journaled about my emotional and physical progress.
Along the way I started adding these digital abstract drawings to my
journal. It kept me resting when I was supposed to but it also helped
show both me and my doctor's, "I'm STILL HERE."

During this time I collaborated with my good friend Vernon Hatley at
The Arts 317 here in my hometown to learn the full limit and
possibilities of what his tech knowledge and printers were capable of.
Vernon is a retired engineer. (you know those patterned divots on the
sides of the road that wake you up when you are about to drive into
the ditch?? He designed the machine that makes those!)

Most of these drawings were done with the knowledge of the expertise
and abilities in mind Vernon would incorporate once I handed them
over.  After the "She Stays" Series I was inspired by my time with
him, his patience with me, and his genuine enthusiasm to help me get
EXACTLY what I was seeing in my mind out on paper  EVERY TIME!

The final results have been extraordinary and the process with my
friends at THE ARTS 317 has been just as beneficial for my long term
    health as any medication.

     VA & Beth,

Friends I will always be grateful for the kindness and generous support you have shown me over these past years.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

    Much love-LHW
